Here's how we're taking action in our community:

I spoke to my class and school to get them to support bringing in recyclables so that we could use the money to pass out food to homeless people. We began talking to kids on the playground and after school, flyers were sent out, apartment communities allowed us to set up stations, businesses like Falco K9 Academy and Oxford tutoring also allowed us to have a recyclable drop off spot.

Here's how we got the idea:

My mom and I fed a homeless man. She had me watch a video that was inspiring and suggested we use are recyclables for this project. I then asked my teach, classmates and peers at school to support this project.

These are the steps we took:

1 Talked to my teach and classmate.
2 Mrs. Agopian allowed me to announce it at school on the morning announcement.
3 Made and passed out flyers.
4 Set up boxes to collect recyclables at different locations.
5 Picked up recyclables at locations weekly.
6 Recycled at the recycling center
7 Purchased food
8 Began passing out food to homeless people in Santa Ana, CA

Here are some of the results:

We raised $90 $70 in recyclables and $20 in a cash donation.
We fed about 50 homeless people and make them smile.
