Here's how we're taking action in our community:
Picking up trash
Here's how we got the idea:
I got the idea when I attended the Ripple Kids event in Tustin on June 2, 2013. The Surfrider Foundation had a booth there and one of the volunteers told me they were going to have a beach clean up soon.
These are the steps we took:
I invited my family to join me and we all went to the beach with our buckets and gloves.
Here are some of the results:
I collected 2.3 pounds of trash.
These are the people who volunteered with me:

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
When I was digging in a huge mound of sand in front of the life guard tower I found two whole bottles!
One of the most important things I learned was:
I learned people should make sure to throw trash in the trash can and not in the ground. I also learned that the little pieces of plastic on the beach can hurt the sea animals.
