Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What is a Ripple Kid?

A: A Ripple Kid is a kid who has identified an issue in the community and has taken action to resolve it. While there are plenty of groups who are actively involved in their community that warrant recognition for their efforts, our goal is to acknowledge those kids who have initiated the action in order to resolve an issue. Note: there may be instances where a child has identified an issue and taken it to a larger group to resolve (Boy Scouts, etc.). He would still be considered a Ripple Kid because he came up with the idea. Conversely, a child who goes along with that same group to pick up trash would not be considered a Ripple Kid if he is not initiating the action.

  • Q: How do I become a Ripple Kid?

A: It's easy! Just implement a project and submit it on our web site. We will review it and post it within 24 hours of being submitted. Congratulations! You are a Ripple Kid!

  • Q: How do Ripple Kids submit a project?

A: Students and their parents should register on the web site (ripplekids.com) and then choose to 'submit a project' from their 'My Account' page. All projects are reviewed and edited if necessary prior to being posted.

  • Q: What if I don't know what I want to do for my project?

A: We have lots of resources on our site to help you figure it out. We've found that the best way to start is to figure out who you want to help. Do you love animals? Do you like to spend time outdoors? Visit our 'Who Do You Want to Help' page to learn more about all the causes so you can pick one.

  • Q: Do I have to start a project of my own?

A: No. Being a Ripple Kid simply means that you have taken action in the community to resolve something that you don't like. Don't like trash on the beach? Sign up for a clean up through a local organization. Want to help animals? Find a local shelter and ask them how you can help. There are so many ways to make a difference and so many great projects and organizations going on all the time.

  • Q: Can I do something with a group of friends or classmates?

A: Yes! Once you've registered, you can create a group from your 'My Account' page and invite whomever you want to join. It's private so only people who have been invited and accepted can join.

  • Q: Do you have some sort of school program?

A: Yes! Our School Recognition Program allows your school to recognize students for taking action in their community.

  • Q: I am with a Nonprofit and we would like to be featured on your site. How do I apply?

A: Simply fill out the interest form and we'll get back to you within 72 hours.
