Here's how we're taking action in our community:
NDR Therapeutic Riding in Norco, CA, provides therapeutic horse activities for people with disabilities. I am too young to volunteer at the ranch but I help Donna by raising money to help pay for the upkeep of the therapy horses. I also get to visit with my mom and brush and groom them.

Here's how we got the idea:
My mom rides horse that are kept at the ranch where NDR is. NDR Therapeutic Riding is a place where people with disabilities get to ride, groom and spend time with specially trained horses. These activities help people with both their physical abilities as well as their social skills. It’s not just a pony ride. Something special happens when a horse and student interact with words and actions.
NDR is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers and funded entirely by grants and donations. Keeping a horse in hay and shoes is expensive! It costs $10,000 each year for each of the NDR’s 7 horses for their food, stabling, training, shoes and vet bills.
Donna told me every donation helps so I decided to sell stuff at the Ripple Fair to raise money for taking care of Luke, a miniature horse who's used for therapy.

These are the steps we took:
With my mom's help, I made bookmarks with pictures of Luke on them, I made slime and I made necklaces with horse charms on them. I sold them at Arroyo Elementary's Ripple Fair on April 4th. My friend Raindrop Weiss helped me at the Fair.
