Here's how we're taking action in our community:
We are selling Rainbow Loom bracelets and keychains; along with, hair ties to raise money for CURE Childhood Cancer.
Here's how we got the idea:
My sister and I like making Rainbow Looms, so we thought about things kids our age would like. Our grandma just finished her cancer treatment and we wanted to do something to find a cure for cancer, first starting with kids.
These are the steps we took:
We researched a good foundation that helped with finding a cure for cancer.
Here are some of the results:
We made 30 bracelets and keychains; along with, 100 hair ties. We priced plain bracelets for $1.00, beaded and charmed bracelets for $2.00, keychains with charms and UV/Glow in the Dark Beads for $4.00, 4 plain hair ties for $1.00, and 2 jeweled hair ties for $1.00. Every person that purchased an item received a golden ribbon in support to find a cure for childhood cancer.

One of the coolest things that happened during our project was our principal, Mrs. Sheyka purchased a bracelet to show support for our foundation. She wore the golden ribbon too!
One of the most important things I learned was:
The most important thing we learned was over 16,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year.
