Here's how we're taking action in our community:

I'm taking action in my community by raising money to help foster kids. We are selling succulents to raise money to purchase fun summer clothes for foster kids.

Here's how we got the idea:

My idea came from my bible study group that I attend. We made these succulent plants for the motel ministry we visited one Sunday morning. The plants really brightened up their tables.

These are the steps we took:

I took the following steps to make the succulents. My mom and I gathered water bottles from friends and our house. The mom's cut the water bottles in 1/2 and all the kids volunteering helped paint the bottles. Then the mom's put soil in the bottles and we planted the succulents in each individual bottle.

Here are some of the results:

We sold over 20 succulents and raised $67.

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:

The coolest thing that happened while selling our succulents at the fair was watching how many people were supporting us by buying the plants to help the foster kids.

One of the most important things I learned was:

One of the most important thing I learned was how important it is to help other kids in need. And to make other kids happy.
