Starfish Ornaments

5.00 hours$175.00 raised

Here's how we're taking action in our community:

The boys spent about 2.5 hours making/ decorating the starfish ornaments and then sold them at the Ripple Fair after school. The group raised $175 for the MaxLove Project.

Here's how we got the idea:

One member of the group has a sister that made similar ornaments for Girl Scouts.

These are the steps we took:

We asked friends if they would like to be in the group, then we scheduled an afternoon after school and had all of the supplies ready for the boys and then they decorated their starfish. For the Ripple Fair a few moms set up the table, displayed the items to be sold and then helped the boys with making change and bagging the items. After the fair I am registering the group.

Here are some of the results:

We sold the starfish for $5 each and we raised $175!

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:

The best moment was to see the smile on Max's face when he saw how hard the boys worked to raise money for his foundation.

One of the most important things I learned was:

Every little bit helps and it only takes one person to make a difference in someone's life! They realized that you are never too young to help others.
