Here's how we're taking action in our community:

Im taking action in the community by giving chapter books to teachers with lots of students that dont have many books at home and/or are in a low reading level for their grade.

Here's how we got the idea:

My girl scout troop that all go to a different school than me and I thought of it when we were thinking of an idea to do for our bronze award.

These are the steps we took:

I took these steps.........
1. I interviewed a teacher that had lots of students struggling in reading, and asked what grade level chapter books she needed.
2. I went through my book shelf and picked out a bunch of books that I didnt read and/or didnt need and give them to Mrs. Roberts the teacher.
3. Now I am starting a ripple kids project to get more books from my school to give them to Mrs. Roberts and other teachers like her.
4. We are also donating extra books that we receive to kids that live in motels and dont have many possessions, especially books.

Here are some of the results:

I made Mrs. Roberts VERY happy and also her students.

These are the people who volunteered with me:

I work alone

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:

The awesomest thing was getting rid of those books for a good cause.

One of the most important things I learned was:

I learned that not all students are as fortunate as me when it comes to reading.
