Here's how we're taking action in our community:

We are collecting gifts for the kids who are in foster care at Orangewood for the holidays.

Here's how we got the idea:

We wanted to help kids who do not have a lot to call their own.

These are the steps we took:

First, we talked to our parents for help and guidance. Our parents received approval from the school to start the project. We purchased art supplies and made ribbon banners with tags on them for the 32 classes and had 10 tags on each one to let the students choose what they wanted to gift. Our front office staff collected the gifts for us and we took home on a daily basis to sort and wrap. Announcements were made on social media as well as flyers to parents of our school community.

Here are some of the results:

We collected almost 300 presents for these kids.

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:

A really cool thing that happened was the amount of gifts that were donated.

One of the most important things I learned was:

TO BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THAT WE HAVE AND TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR EVERYONE.
