Here's how we're taking action in our community:

So far Ive donated items to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center from their wish list, raised money from my girl scout nuts sales, and have set up a fundraising page where people can donate money that will go straight to the center. Im also going to set up a fundraising night at a local eatery where proceeds will go to benefit the patients at the center. I have created awareness on my Facebook page and will send an article to the OC register to help raise funds and awareness for the great things this center does to help mammals in need.

Here's how we got the idea:

I visited the center on a girl scout workshop and found that the center needs resources all year long.

These are the steps we took:

During the workshop, you learned about the different mammals they take care of and how they are rescued, rehabilitated and then released back into the ocean. I got to see first hand what the facility needs and how it works through volunteers and donations.

Here are some of the results:

These are the people who volunteered with me:

I work alone, My family, An organization

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:

I really enjoyed visiting the marine center and seeing the seals and sea lions up close.

One of the most important things I learned was:

I learned the best way to help the sick seals and sea lions is to feed them protein packed fish smoothies through a tube. This helps them put on weight and gets them healthy quicker.
